Known for offering some of the most stunning vantage points in AlUla, Top of Al Harra is a must-visit for adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike. Starting with a 1-hour drive from Husaak Center AlUla, the hike itself is 1.5-hour uphill climb. As you ascend, the challenge of walking on uneven terrain and using your hands to navigate becomes part of the adventure. For those moments, gloves prove to be a valuable companion. 

At the top reward yourself with 15 minutes of uninterrupted awe as you take in the sweeping vistas that stretch as far as the eye can see. The scenery is nothing short of breathtaking, making every step of the journey worth it. As you begin your descent, anticipate spending around 1 hour navigating the path back down. Be cautious of loose rocks, and take your time to ensure a safe journey. Sturdy hiking boots with ankle support are essential to provide stability and safety as you navigate this terrain. 

It's important to note that this adventure may not be suitable for everyone. If you have pre-existing knee injuries, it's recommended to avoid this experience. Safety is our priority, and we want to ensure that every participant has a safe and enjoyable journey.

Top of Al Harra Hike

Embark on a journey through time on this 3 km historical treasure site adorned with clusters of pictographs that have stood for two thousand years. This trail is not only a testament to AlUla's rich heritage but also a showcase of its breathtaking natural beauty. 

As you embark on the Journey Through Time trail, you will be transported into the past, walking in the footsteps of those who came before. The pictographs, dating back millennia, offer glimpses into the lives, stories, and culture of those who once roamed these lands. The trail itself is a journey of around 3 to 4 hours, depending on your fitness levels, and covers various carvings, each telling its own unique tale. 

To reach this historical marvel, you'll embark on a 1 hour 10-minute drive each way. In winter months, the trail presents an added element of adventure, as some sections may be adorned with deep pools of rainwater. But fear not, for these pools are a natural part of the journey. Pack a change of clothes to fully embrace this element and let the water pools become a part of your story. 

This is a chance to witness the enduring power of nature's artistry and to explore its rich history that has been etched into the stones and sands. So, gather your adventurous spirit and step onto the trail, where history, nature, and the human journey intertwine.

As your hands mold the clay, you'll feel the material's malleability and the depth of the design, forging a connection with the past. As the clay sets, savor the opportunity to indulge in a traditional Arabic lunch, thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients. Step onto soft beige sands that stretch as far as the eye can see, and let each step take you deeper into the heart of the desert's untouched beauty. The trail is located a 45-minute drive from Husaak Center AlUla. This hike is an opportunity to not only explore a unique environment but also to find solace and inspiration in the simplicity and majesty of nature.
