Overview

Asir is a land of abundant attractions. It has Saudi Arabia’s highest point at Al Soudah. It’s where the clouds gather to rest, and you may catch the pillowy white spectacle on a hike there. If the clouds give you a miss, the hanging village in Al Habala won’t. There’s a ropeway ride to the village now, but when technology was absent, some say this village was accessible only by a rope ladder. For heritage fans, you must explore the restored Unesco village of Rijal Almaa. The houses made of stone, clay, and wood are a unique sight. This area is also famous for its honey, so make sure to get some as a souvenir. In Abha, the capital of Asir, don’t miss the Green Mountain.
